Primary responsibilities include the investigation of cases related to animal neglect, abuse and abandonment, education of pet and livestock owners, the promotion of responsible animal care, and assisting the Animal Cruelty Task Force with the rescue of animals due to distressing conditions or disasters. Resides at the property and performs nightly closing duties including feeding and watering animals when necessary. Monitor health and wellbeing of animals and respond with appropriate care when necessary. The Humane Society of MO’s Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union, MO is seeking a Part time Weekend  Ranch Assistant.  The jobs entail feeding, watering, turning out animals, and cleaning stalls and living quarters. .  Horses, goats, sheep, birds and pigs need your care and attention. You must be 18 or older, have previous horse handling experience, and be available to work every weekend.  Provides all animals at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch with proper care and attention including adherence to established feeding, sanitation and medical procedures. Interacts with public in a positive and courteous manner.  May performs a variety of cleaning duties and is responsible for building, road equipment and maintenance (ie: repairs fence, paints, mows, changes oil, fills fluids, etc.). Responsibilities include monitoring and checking the work of other employees, and ranch volunteers, scheduling and overseeing the daily work arrangements, ensuring proper care for all animals at the ranch, adherence to established feeding, sanitation, medical procedures and following all HSM Adoption policies guidelines.
The successful candidate should have professional horse handling experience, have or ability to obtain a Class E Driver’s license, and large horse trailer experience.  Under the direction of the Director of Development, this position will develop and implement fundraising plans, goals, and objectives to meet the mission of the HSMO.  Oversee the strategic planning, budgeting, and plan implementation of key revenue streams within the development department. Oversee implementation, and utilization of all data management software programs (Convio/Razor’s Edge/ etc.). Ensuring the accuracy and viability of donor lists, establishing and oversight of SOPs, and supervision of assigned staff responsible for daily utilization. Be responsible for the implementation of programs to identify prospective donors and researches to effectively cultivate and solicit special gifts. Manage portions of the Direct Mail program, work in conjunction with colleagues in Development and Public Relations to plan and coordinate all special events, corporate solicitations, and participate in all details of execution of these events.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a B.A. from a four-year college or university, and 2-4 years of related experience or a comparable combination of the above. Must have previous supervisory experience.
