Veterinary Assistant HQ 03052015 NEW!


The Humane Society of Missouri is seeking an individual with veterinary hospital experience to work in our AAHA accredited veterinary clinic and surgery center. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual that possesses knowledge of animal health care, animal restraint techniques, and surgery preparation in addition to being detail-oriented, and having excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. This position assists veterinarians; restrains animals, may dispense surgical equipment; lifts animals to weigh for medications/anesthetics, may prep animals for treatment and/or surgery, maintains supply inventory, monitors anesthetic solutions, give medications, applies splints/bandages and cleans/disinfects surgery equipment. The ideal candidate will also be excellent at maintaining strong working relationships with HSMO coworkers and customers and maintaining a positive and professional public image at all times. This individual should have animal handling/restraining experience, experience in a veterinary hospital setting. Also must be available for shifts Monday thru Saturday.

Customer Service Representative 03042015 NEW!

Full time position in customer service, will work in a busy full service veterinary clinic. The Customer Service Representative will work both in our  contact center as well as at our clinic front desk.  Duties include but are not limited to: assisting our customers with scheduling patient appointments, checking clients in upon arrival, cashier duties, take messages, notify staff of emergencies, refer call to other HSMO departments as necessary, maintain accurate records in AMCMA databases, maintain client and patient confidentiality of information, answer questions relating to veterinary procedures, and general animal health care. Customer Service Representatives are expected to be able to direct questions to our medical team (assistants, licensed techs, or veterinarians), as needed.   Previous customer service experience required, call center, and animal health knowledge preferred. The Humane Society of Missouri is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping animals to work at our HQ location as Assistant Animal Health Technician. This position provides all animals in the Adoption Center with proper care and attention including cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, floors, and rooms, providing food and water, and restraining animals for medical procedures. Must be able to work well in challenging emotional settings. Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent,3-6 months animal handling experience, excellent internal customer service skills. May fill in for Adoption Counselors from time to time. Full time position MUST be available to work weekends.

Responsibilities include feeding, watering, turning out animals, and cleaning stalls and living quarters.. Provides all animals at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch with proper care and attention including adherence to established feeding, sanitation and medical procedures. Horses, goats, sheep, birds and pigs need care and attention.  Interacts with public in a positive and courteous manner. The successful candidate must be 18 years or older, should have previous horse handling experience, a Driver’s license, and experience with other farm animals is desirable. The Humane Socity of MO is seeking an experience indivdual to coordinate our offsite adoption transfer activites.  This position will require driving an animal transport unit throughout the state of Missouri or other states ( as necessary), including possible overnight travel.  The successful candidate will have a least one year of related animal welfare, and animal behavior expereince, high school diploma or GED, a Class E Drivers license ( or the ablity to obtain one) and strong communication and customer service skills.  The position will also include general kennel duties, assistance in animal rescues, and other duities as assigned.



 
Animal Cruelty Task Force – St. Louis Investigator 01072015

An opening exists for a dedicated individual with excellent communication and animal handling skills to respond to calls regarding the welfare of animals. Primary responsibilities include the investigation of cases related to animal neglect, abuse and abandonment, education of pet and livestock owners, the promotion of responsible animal care, and assisting the Animal Cruelty Task Force with the rescue of animals due to distressing conditions or disasters. This mission oriented position requires the candidate to have excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, coupled with the knowledge of responsible pet ownership, and must display a high level of professionalism at all times. Previous animal related experience and/or investigative or security experience is required. Due to the nature of the job, weekend and on call availability is a must.

This position maintains shelter animal health including treating sick and injured animals as directed by our veterinarians.  Our horse and farm animal rescue ranch in Union, Missouri is seeking an experienced supervisor to assist the Ranch Director in the daily operations of the ranch, including the care of animals, the supervision/instruction of employees and volunteers, and the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. You will need a valid Class E driver’s license (or the ability to obtain one), a four year degree, and 3-5 years of supervisory, horse handling, and animal care experience. Excellent communication, customer service, and computer skills are also a must.
