St. Louis City Police Department and Humane Society of Missouri Respond to Report of Dog Shot Twice in Face; Humane Society of Missouri Offering $2,500 Reward For Information about the
Perpetrator(s)

Dog Shot in Face in North St. Louis CityApril 14, 2008-The Humane Society of Missouri is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/persons responsible for shooting an adult pit bull dog this afternoon. At approximately 4 p.m. this afternoon, the Humane Society received a phone call from the St. Louis City Police Department that a dog was shot on Paris Avenue in North St. Louis City.

The dog was taken to the Humane Society of Missouri’s headquarters on Macklind Avenue for emergency treatment. Upon examination by a Humane Society of Missouri veterinarian, the dog’s injuries were determined to be so severe that it was humanely euthanized. The dog was emaciated and infested with fleas.

The Humane Society of Missouri in cooperation with the St. Louis City Police Department will continue to investigate this case and look for possible witnesses and additional evidence.
