Third time's a charm: Humane Society of Missouri receives four star rating for exceptional management
Only 6.6 percent of charities rated have received the honor three consecutive years
October 19, 2006 - The Humane Society of Missouri has earned a coveted four star rating (the top score possible) for the third consecutive year in an analysis recently conducted by Charity Navigator, a national organization that helps donors make informed giving decisions by evaluating the financial health of more than 5,000 charities on their website. The exceptional rating means that the Humane Society exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its category. The organization is cited for its ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances. Only 6.6% of all evaluated charities have achieved the four star rating for three consecutive years.
“The fact that we’ve received a four star rating for three consecutive years is a credit to the Humane Society’s leadership, including the foresight of the board and the entire management team,” said Kathy Warnick, President of the Humane Society of Missouri. “Our mission is to run our organization as effectively and efficiently as possible in order to ensure that our resources are dedicated to helping animals in need.”
The Humane Society shares the four star rating with three other well-known and respected non-profit institutions in St. Louis: Missouri Botanical Garden, Washington University and St. Louis University.
