Abused Kittens Ready for Adoption

Teens Used Skateboard to Injure Helpless Kittens

In June 2012, two kittens, just weeks old, were brought to the Humane Society of Missouri by a Good Samaritan who rescued them from abuse. Neighborhood kids used a skateboard to hurl the kittens as high into the air as they would go, only to let them fall flat on the pavement. This led to busted faces, broken tails, hairline fractures and months of recovery and uncecessary suffering for these poor animals.

Fortunately, a dedicated Foster Parent and Humane Society employee offered to foster the kittens, so they had the best of care for three months while they recovered. Now they are healthy, happy and ready for loving homes.

Derby and Hawke, now 4 months old, are available for adoption at the Humane Society of Missouri's Macklind Avenue location in St. Louis City. If you would like to make one or both of them a part of your family, please visit in person and fill out an application.
