At the Humane Society of Missouri, we understand that saying goodbye to a beloved pet is not easy.  We understand your loss, and our caring staff is committed to treating your pet with the dignity and compassion they deserve.

Services

Veterinary Consultation

Deciding if it is the right time to say goodbye to your pet is a very difficult decision. We recommend scheduling a veterinary appointment to discuss your pet's condition so you can make the most informed decision.

Humane Euthanasia

We offer humane euthanasia services by appointment. Please call (314) 951-1534 and a call center attendant will talk you through your options.

Cremation Services

The Humane Society of Missouri offers affordable cremation services. Your pet's ashes can be returned to you to help you memorialize your pet. Our staff will be able to answer any questions you might have at the time of euthanasia, or you may call in advance for more information.

If your pet has very recently passed and you wish to have them cremated, please call (314) 951-1562 to discuss your options.

Tributes and Memorials

We offer many options to help you pay tribute and celebrate the life of your cherished pet.

Directly across from the Humane Society of Missouri's 1201 Macklind Avenue location is Carol Gates Throop Memorial Park.

This beautiful, tranquil park is a quiet place to reflect on the joy our pets have brought to our lives. Lasting memorials can be made in the form of engraved bricks, dedicated benches, trees and more. Learn more about memorializing your pet at Carol Gates Throop Memorial Park.

Pet Loss Support

 If you are experiencing or anticipating the loss of a pet and would like to discuss your feelings, join our Pet Loss Support Group. Our group meets on the first Monday of every month from 7:00 – 8:00 pm at the Humane Society of Missouri headquarters, 1201 Macklind Avenue.

There is no cost to attend but we do ask that you RSVP prior to coming. Please contact Sue Gassner at sgassner@hsmo.org for more information.
