Meowlidays at HSMO!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year … for cats and kittens!

HSMO is celebrating the “Meowlidays” again this year, encouraging people to consider the adoption of a cute and cuddly feline through a special promotion lasting until the end of November.

Now through Monday, November 30, the fee for adult cats age nine months and older is waived and only $75 for kittens! Adoption fee does not include $10 rabies tag fee.  Adopters will receive a welcome bag (while supplies list) for their new feline friend with Purina cat toys, an AMCMA litter scoop, as well as a starter bag of Purina cat food!

Adoptions are available by appointment only. Visit hsmo.org/adopt to meet our adoptable kitties and fill out an online application to get the process started! If you know the ID number of the cat or kitten you’d like you adopt, you can visit hsmo.org/macklind for our Macklind Avenue Headquarters and hsmo.org/bestbuddy for our Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights.

Thursday is PURRSday!

Adopt a Cat on Purrsday for no adoption fee!

Ready to adopt one of our fabulous fluffy felines? Stop in every Thursday for no fee adoptions for kitties age nine months and older!

  • spay/neuter surgery,
  • vaccinations,
  • microchip identification,
  • initial flea treatment,
  • temporary collar and tag,
  • and of course, tons of TLC from HSMO staff.

It costs the Humane Society of Missouri nearly $260 to care for each cat and kitten in our shelters. Your donation, in any amount, helps cover the cost of their care.

HSMO Curbside Adoptions Available Now!

In an effort to reduce the number of animals still in the shelters while also maintaining necessary social distancing, pre-approved adopters will now be able to adopt a pet via curbside pickup.

Curbside Adoption Details:

Those who are serious about adoption and want to take advantage of being at home with their new pet can fill out an interest form and go to hsmo.org/adopt to view available animals at both HSMO shelter locations. Once the adopter has found the pet they’d like to adopt, they should contact the appropriate shelter as noted in the pet description via phone to go through the application process and interview. Call (314) 951-1562 for the Macklind Ave. Headquarters and (314) 951-1588 for the Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights.
